First day back at CTC after our week long break. It felt SO nice to be back.
This week I am working with kindergarten-3rd grade. The morning class is called SUPERHEROS! And it starts at 9:30am and goes until 12:00pm. The afternoon class is called MUSIC JAMS and starts at 1:00pm and goes until 3:30pm (I get to go home early!).
It's only been the first day and I already LOVE this age group. They are at the age where they cling a little bit more. My 4-5 year olds did this a little bit but it was different. In the morning class, I had a boy in the first class take a liking to me when class was almost over. All he was doing was side bumping into me on purpose, so I did it back. We did it for a little bit. Then the next thing I knew, when we were lining up for lunch, he was holding my hand. :) He then made sure he had a spot next to him at lunch so I could sit by him. He got a little sad when we realized we wouldn't be in the next class together (there are two sessions of MUSIC JAMS at the same time). So I hope he still likes me tomorrow. :)
Then in the afternoon, I had a whole group of girls take a liking to me! The teacher put us into groups to dance and to make up our own stories. So I was with these girls throughout the afternoon. I felt a huge smile come on my face, while we were circling up, when one of the girls asked me to sit by her. They all made me feel so loved.
Plus the activities we did in those classes were so much fun. It was like we were just playing the whole time. Which is what theatre is, when you get down to it.
The teachers for both of the classes seem great. I don't know that much about them except that they do a lot of theatre around the Twin Cities area. I can't wait to get to know them both more. It was a very good day today...but I am already exhausted!
